NLP and training phrases
This guide provides key tips for writing effective NLP training phrases: start with 10-15 phrases, keep them short and concise, avoid double questions, and maintain a balance of phrases across all your scenarios.
Once you've chosen to create a scenario using NLP (Natural Language Processing), there are a few things you might want to keep in mind.
NLP is the ability of a computer program to understand human language in spoken and written form - called natural language. It is part of artificial intelligence (AI). NLP has been around for over 50 years and has its roots in linguistics.
- We recommend 10-15 training phrases to begin with.
- Keep training phrases short and concise. Think about how to google as an example.
- Do not enter unnecessary text such as: Hi!, My name is..., and personal and sensitive information.
- Also, do not enter double phrases/questions such as: I am wondering about X and Y. (The risk is then that the bot will be confused.)
- Also consider the remaining scenarios. How many training phrases are there? It's good to have an even balance so that one scenario doesn't have 100 training phrases and others might have 20.
