Changing the Simultaneous Chat Limit (Chat Capacity)
Learn how the global chat limit is managed and what to do if you are unable to change your own capacity.
✅ Here is the key to setting this up
In Ebbot, the number of simultaneous chats a Chat user (agent) can handle is a global setting. Because this affects the entire bot's performance, it is found in the Bot Settings and is restricted to the Owner role.
1. For Owners: How to change the limit
If you have the Owner role, you can adjust the team's capacity here:
- Navigate to Settings > Bots in the side menu.
- Locate your bot and click the Pencil icon (Edit).
- Find the Advanced Bot Settings section.
- Update the Chat limit field and click Save.
2. For Chat users & Admins: Why can't I change this?
If you are working in the Live chat workspace and see plus (+) or minus (-) buttons next to your chat count, please note:
- Informational only: These buttons currently show your limit but cannot be clicked to change it.
- Permission required: Only the account Owner can change these technical parameters.
What to do next: If you need to handle more (or fewer) concurrent chats, please contact your internal Ebbot Owner or Team Lead to request an adjustment to the global Chat limit.
